  1. $tock$tack is a Hypercard® stack which allows you to track
  2. various technical indicators for individual stocks, mutual
  3. funds, market indices (such as the Dow Jones Industrial
  4. Average), currencies, bonds, and interest rate instruments.  It
  5. tracks and plots the stock price (open, high, low, and close),
  6. trading volume, moving averages, stochastics, Relative Strength
  7. Index, and "On Balance Volume", on a daily, weekly, or monthly
  8. basis.

  10. $tock$tack was originally designed to utilize quote files (in a
  11. TEXT format) from the Prodigy™ Interactive Personal Service. 
  12. Consult your Prodigy™ service user's manual for information on
  13. how to download quotes to a text file.  I have also added the
  14. capability to read America OnLine™ Stock Portfolio Display
  15. files, CompuServe™ MQuote II files, CompuServe™ Information
  16. Manager QuickQuotes files, CompuServe™ Navigator QuickQuote files,
  17. and GEnie™ quote files (comma-delimited).  You may also manually
  18. enter data for your stocks.  If you have some other format that you
  19. download quotes in, or from a service other than those listed above,
  20. please contact me and I'll look into including that format in future
  21. versions of $tock$tack.

  23. $tock$tack requires HyperCard® software version 2.1, at least 2
  24. megabytes of RAM (under System 6) or 4 megabytes under System 7.
  25.  HyperCard® must be allocated at least 1500K of RAM (change by
  26. "Getting Info" on HyperCard). The stack will automatically size
  27. itself for a 13" RGB screen (640x480).   If your screen size is
  28. different, the stack will be the standard size for a 9" screen
  29. (512x342).  If you desire a small card despite having a larger
  30. screen, holding the Command-key while opening $tock$tack (each
  31. time) will force a 9" standard card.

  33. You may try this stack for 40 days without registering.  During
  34. this time, you have full graphing capabilites, but the stack
  35. will only maintain 50 days worth of data.  After that time
  36. period, the stack will not allow you to add additional data
  37. without the password, which you obtain when you register.  Once
  38. you have registered, you will be allowed to configure the stack
  39. to your desires, telling it how many days to maintain data, what
  40. graphs to graph, how many days to use for various statistics,
  41. and what stock commision rates to use.  You will also be
  42. informed when future upgrades are available.  Some planned
  43. additions include:
  44. 1. Continuing to write routines as external functions to speed
  45. up the program.
  46. 2. The capability to track a portfolio, possibly multiple
  47. portfolios.
